Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Maxwriter collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data, and the choices and rights available to you. We aim to describe our actual practices clearly and in plain language.
1. Who we are
Maxwriter (“Maxwriter”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a software product operated by Gearro, UAB, a company registered in Lithuania.

2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create or use a Maxwriter account, we may collect your name, email address, account identifiers, and basic profile information.
If you sign in using Google, we receive the information necessary to authenticate your account, such as your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
Content you provide
We process content you create or provide through Maxwriter, including drafts, published-post references, ideas, notes, saved inspiration, instructions, and other information you choose to provide. This information is used to provide Maxwriter’s writing, personalization, and content-related features.
Public LinkedIn information
When you provide your LinkedIn profile URL or use features that rely on public LinkedIn information, Maxwriter may retrieve publicly available information relating to your LinkedIn profile and content. This may include your public posts, public engagement information such as reactions, comments and reshares, profile headline, profile image, follower information, and other publicly available profile information.
We currently use third-party service providers, including Apify, to retrieve certain publicly available LinkedIn information. In practice, this means publicly available LinkedIn posts and their public engagement metrics, collected through our data provider, are used to power content inspiration and benchmarking.
LinkedIn integration
Where Maxwriter makes an official LinkedIn integration available, you may choose to connect your LinkedIn account to Maxwriter through LinkedIn’s authorization process. If you connect your account, Maxwriter may receive information made available to us through the LinkedIn APIs and the permissions you grant — depending on the features you use, this may include your LinkedIn account or profile identifiers, your content, and analytics or engagement information relating to your LinkedIn profile and posts.
Where Maxwriter provides publishing or engagement functionality, Maxwriter may transmit content or supported actions to LinkedIn on your behalf only when you explicitly initiate or authorize that action through Maxwriter. Maxwriter does not ask for or store your LinkedIn password. Connecting your LinkedIn account is optional, and you can disconnect Maxwriter or revoke its authorization through LinkedIn.
Payment information
If you purchase a paid plan, your payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly. Maxwriter receives limited billing and subscription information (such as your subscription status) and does not receive or store your full payment card number.
Usage and technical information
We collect limited technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve Maxwriter. This may include browser and device information, IP address, pages or features used, timestamps, application events, error logs, and security-related information.
3. How we use your information
We use personal data to provide and operate Maxwriter, including to authenticate your account, generate and improve content, personalize writing to your preferences and writing style, analyze the performance of your content, provide inspiration and content insights, and maintain your saved drafts and settings.
Where you connect LinkedIn through an official integration, we use LinkedIn data only to provide the LinkedIn-related functionality you choose to use, such as displaying your content performance or enabling supported actions that you explicitly initiate.
We also use limited data to maintain the security and reliability of Maxwriter, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, provide customer support, understand how the service is used, and improve our product. We may process information where necessary to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not use LinkedIn API data for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — where processing is necessary to provide the Maxwriter service you request.
- Legitimate interests — where necessary to operate, secure, analyze, and improve Maxwriter or provide relevant product functionality, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Consent — where processing requires your consent, including where we specifically ask you to authorize access to particular information or functionality. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
5. LinkedIn connection and your control
You control whether Maxwriter connects to your LinkedIn account.
Before connecting your LinkedIn account through an official LinkedIn integration, you will be shown the permissions requested and asked to authorize the connection. Maxwriter only requests access that is reasonably necessary for the LinkedIn features we provide.
You can revoke Maxwriter’s LinkedIn authorization through LinkedIn or disconnect the integration where that option is available in Maxwriter. Disconnecting your LinkedIn account stops Maxwriter from making new LinkedIn API requests using your authorization.
You may request deletion of personal data obtained through your LinkedIn connection at any time by deleting your Maxwriter account or contacting info@maxwriter.io.
6. How we handle LinkedIn data
Authorisation
We access your LinkedIn data only after you authorise it through LinkedIn’s official OAuth flow, and only for the permissions (scopes) you approve. We never receive or store your LinkedIn password and do not sign in using your credentials.
Data we access
Depending on the permissions you grant, this may include:
- your LinkedIn profile information (name, headline, photo, profile URL, and associated email);
- where you grant permission, the ability to publish posts to your LinkedIn account and to submit comments and reactions that you have written and approved, at your explicit direction;
- analytics for your own LinkedIn posts (such as impressions, reach, reactions, comments, reshares, followers gained, and profile views); and
- the LinkedIn access and refresh tokens needed to provide these features.
Actions on your behalf are always initiated by you
When you choose to publish a post, comment, or reaction, Maxwriter transmits only the content you have written and approved, through LinkedIn’s official APIs. Maxwriter does not autonomously post, comment, react, message, or connect on your behalf, and does not operate bots or automated engagement on your account.
Purpose limitation
We use LinkedIn data solely to provide the features you enable. We do not sell it, do not use it for advertising, and share it only with the service providers that operate our platform and as required by law.
Storage and revocation
You can disconnect your LinkedIn account at any time, which revokes our access and deletes the stored tokens.
Compliance
Our access to and use of LinkedIn data and the LinkedIn APIs complies with the LinkedIn API Terms of Use and applicable LinkedIn policies.
7. AI processing
Maxwriter uses artificial intelligence services to help generate, rewrite, analyze, and personalize content. Information you submit to AI-powered features may be processed by our AI service providers to generate the requested output. We currently use Anthropic as an AI service provider. We only provide service providers with information reasonably necessary to perform the relevant service on our behalf.
8. Service providers and other recipients
We use a limited number of third-party service providers to operate Maxwriter:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Anthropic — AI-powered content processing.
- Google — optional sign-in.
- Apify — retrieval of certain publicly available LinkedIn content.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- LinkedIn — authentication and publishing, where you use the official integration.
Our service providers process personal data only for purposes connected with providing their services to us and subject to applicable contractual and data-protection obligations.
We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, court order, or another valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect Maxwriter, our users, or others from fraud, security threats, or unlawful activity. If Maxwriter or the business operating it is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable data-protection requirements.
9. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal data outside Lithuania or the European Economic Area. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
10. Data retention
We keep account information, content, and other personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Maxwriter, maintain legitimate business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Information associated with an active Maxwriter account will generally be retained while the account remains active.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data that we no longer need, subject to limited information we may be required to retain by law. Where information is obtained through the official LinkedIn APIs, we retain and delete that information in accordance with applicable LinkedIn API requirements.
LinkedIn authentication tokens are retained only while necessary to maintain the connection you authorized and are deleted or invalidated when you disconnect your LinkedIn account, when your account is deleted, or when the authorization is otherwise terminated. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until they are overwritten through our normal backup processes.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include access controls, secure authentication, restricted access to production systems, and encrypted transmission of data. Access to personal data is limited to people and service providers who need it to operate or support Maxwriter. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but we review our practices as the service evolves.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances of the processing, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request deletion of your personal data;
- restrict certain processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain personal data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, contact info@maxwriter.io. If you are in Lithuania, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija). Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.
13. Account and data deletion
You may stop using Maxwriter and delete your account at any time. You may also request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting info@maxwriter.io.
When your Maxwriter account is deleted, we delete personal data associated with the account that we are not legally required to retain. Where your account contains information obtained through an official LinkedIn API connection, that information and related authorization tokens will also be deleted in accordance with applicable LinkedIn requirements.
14. Cookies and analytics
Maxwriter uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to provide the service, including authentication, session management, security, and remembering essential settings.
We also use a product-analytics provider (PostHog) to understand how Maxwriter is used so we can operate and improve it. This may involve analytics cookies or similar identifiers. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral advertising. If our use of non-essential cookies changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any consent controls required by law.
15. Automated decision-making
Maxwriter uses automated systems and artificial intelligence to provide content suggestions, analysis, and other product functionality. We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects about you.
16. Children’s privacy
Maxwriter is intended for professional and business use and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to use Maxwriter. If we learn that personal data has been collected from a person under 18 in circumstances where we are not legally permitted to process it, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Maxwriter develops, our processing practices change, or legal requirements evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify users through Maxwriter or by email.
